Mani and Pedi Done!

the perfect touch of massage allows us to enter the world of relaxation. All our senses are pleased, our mind calm as we enjoy being pampered.

Pampering ourselves just feels amazing. I mean who can say no to a spa opportunity. Who does not love spa? I feel children love spa and are excited for it as equally as adults.

Therefore, I decided to do a little spa treatment at home for my kids. Usually on nights when there is no plans, I like to pamper myself with a face mask. Looking at that the kids were onto me for a week to do face masks for them too.

So, welcome to my home spa – not so fancy or glam, but good enough to make the kids happy. I got monthly customers!

Kids were over excited, but before I began I had two rules laid out to them loud and clear.

Rule 1: No Fighting or I will stop everything.

Rule 2: Wait for your turn!

So, here is a list of things I prepped up for the spa.

For pedicure and manicure, I prepared a homemade scrub of lemon, sugar and turmeric. I took 4 spoons of lemon juice, mixed in pinch of turmeric and 7 spoons of sugar. The mixture should be thick enough to feel that graininess of the sugar. I also had a tub full of warm water to rinse their feet and hands.

For facial: I go to my favorite masks whenever I want quick results or I am less on time. I can swear by this brand, YES TO – they work amazing and are not too harsh on your skin. I used the cucumber mask on the all the kids skin. They are about $3 from Target, but one packet lasted all 5 kids and me!

We also cut some cucumbers for our eyes.

Finally all set for our session. We lit some candle, put on some Indian romantic music to set the mood.

First we started off with some mani and pedi. I washed their hands with warm water. Then I applied some of the lemon-sugar scrub and used sponge and brush to give that feel of pedi and mani.

After washing their hands and legs, I gently massaged it with cream and told them to go rest on the bed.

I thought I was done with that part, but no, the girls were already waiting for me in bed diligently with their nail polish.

As I applied nail polish, my other kids were having a gala time dancing around in the room with each other.

I was enjoying their dances and madness you can say because even in small things they were happy.

Next it was time for facial. They dimmed the lights, we had music playing in the background and scented candle.

I applied the cucumber mask one by one and had them lie down on the bed. Then I put cucumbers on their eyes. They were so quiet and relaxed. I think they had almost dozed off…

I woke them up once the masks were dry and washed it off.

“My skin is so bright now and smooth” all of them were saying to each other. They were feeling whose skin was the smoothest out of all and constantly looking in the mirror.

They should have just said, “Mirror, mirror, whose skin is smoothest of all”…😂

Spa time was definitely a success. Maybe once in a while I would love to do it for them, but I do not want to get habituated to it.

More then them, I enjoyed the whole process. Yes, it was a little tiring, but I felt I could become more creative and be like a kid again.

My nails are painted!
