Exploring the LA Arboretum

Are you an animal lover? Or a garden and plants lover? Or just love to spend the time with your family? Either way, I recently discovered one such place that allows you to have some family time and be one with nature.

It is the The Arboretum – Los Angeles County Arboretum & Botanic Garden. In this Covid times, this a perfect outing where you get to spend time with your family and enjoy the day amongst nature. It felt like I was walking in the jungle, away from the hustle bustle of the city life.

You will spot lot of different animals and plant species. We saw some geese, turtoise, tadpoles, and woodpecker. However, the most popular attraction were the peacocks. They have a special peacock garden where you see peacocks roaming around freely, resting, eating and just being in their natural habitat. Kids were excited to see a baby peacock!

It was quite hot the day we went so I do recommend to check the weather before going. Kids got exhausted because of the heat, but if the weather is pleasant, then you can stay and enjoy the park for a longer time.

The park is open from 9 am – 6 pm; however, due to Covid, you must buy the tickets online prior to visiting the park.

All the safety precautions are taken, everyone keeps their distance and maintains safety measures. I felt the park was quite safe if you are worried about Covid.

On third Tuesdays of the month, the park is free for admission, but you have to reserve it beforehand.

Another thing is it is a beautiful park for photoshoots of any kind. Though you need permission, I am sure the pictures will turn out phenomenal. Kids got excited to see someone doing their pregnancy shoot at one of the spots.

Do visit their website for further information. https://www.arboretum.org/
