Pumpkin Madness
“There is magic in the night when pumpkins glow by moonlight.” – Unkown
Peek-a-boo! Are you ready with your jack-o-lanterns all carved out, scooped out and decorated?
My kids sure were excited to carve their own jack-o-lanterns!
Due to Covid, the fun in Halloween falls a bit short; however, that does not mean you can not have fun activities at home like pumpkin carving, decorating the home, dressing up, or having a Halloween pinatas to get yummy candies.
Halloween started out as a pre-Christian Celtic festival of Samhain. The Celts believed that the dead returned to Earth on the night of October 31st. On this night, people would light bonfires and offer sacrifices to the dead.
Villagers would dress themselves up in animal costumes as a disguise to drive away the spirits. Over time, people started dressing up as ghosts, goblins, and other demon characters and perform a joke or some “trick” in exchange for food and drink. Slowly, trick or treating become what we know today.
Here are some pictures from pumpkin carving. Happy Halloween!!
