MOMMY SECRETS

Vegan Vitamins to Rescue Our Health

You have often heard health is wealth, but have you stopped to think about it?

If you have good health, it is obvious you can accomplish more things and have more energy for your day-to-day stuff. A lot of times, we put emphasis on our physical body and take care of it like our face, skin, hair, and other features, but we often forget to take care of our internal health.

Internal health is more important than physical health because what you put inside your body will reflect on the outside. As a result, I do a full-body check-up once a year to make sure all my vitamins, minerals, and internal health are in order.

Is it necessary? Maybe not, but one shortcut method I find helpful is by taking my vitamins. Vitamins are my to go source because they give the body a quick boost and quick supplement of what it needs. For instance, being vegetarian, my Vitamin D tends to run on the lower end. Due to it going very low, my feet and hand would become numb and fall asleep every time they are idle. Thus, now I religiously take my vitamin.

Being a vegetarian, with lot dietary restrictions, such as no eggs, gelatin, fish etc, it has become easier to find such vegan vitamins that I wanted to share with you for kids and adults. All these recommendations are vegan products. Along with vegan products, some of the brands do carry vegeterian products which can include egg or gelatin.

Children – I prefer more gummy vitamins for them since it feels like candy, they are yummy and easy to swallow.

  1. Yummibears

These are my most favorite and most used gummies for kids. The Hero Nutritional has a wide range of vitamins supplying the need for whatever you are looking for. The gummies are free of allergens like gluten, wheat, yeast, milk, eggs, soy, peanuts, tree nuts, and shellfish and do not contain any synthetic colors, artificial flavors, artificial sweeteners, or preservatives. They have multi-vitamin, calcium + Vitamin D3, immunity health, omega 3, and others. They may range from $25-30, but you can find them on vitamin world or amazon. Just be aware, their vegetarian gummies do contain gelatin.

2. My Kind Organics

This Garden Of Life is another brand that I like to use as they have lots of products for kids and adults. Their multi-vitamin for kids has a fruit or a cherry flavor. It is dairy-free, soy-free, has non-GMO products, and made from organic food and herbs. The pectin comes from non-GMO apples and organic orange peel—no pig gelatin. It is also Kosher certified. It is $25 on Amazon.

3. MaryRuth Organics

MaryRuth is another popular brand when it comes to vitamins as their products are vegan, plant-based and has non-GMO ingredients. HelloBello is a site for babies and kids related stuff and have kids vegan multivitamins also. Their gummies are vegan except the Omega – 3, prenatal +DHA, and vitamin D. They also have mens and womens multivitamins. It is around $17 on Amazon.

Adults – I like to take gummies just because I find pills hard to swallow since they are quite big; however, my husband likes to take pills instead.

  1. Goli Nutrition Apple Cider Vinegar Gummies

They are an innovative company that makes the world’s first apple cider vinegar gummies! If you find apple cider vinegar hard to digest, then these gummies are very easy on the stomach. My husband loves this as they are easy to digest and you can take them whenever you like. They also have ashwagandha gummies to help with de-stressing and keeping calm. The ingredients are free of yeast, wheat, milk, eggs, gluten, soy, gelatin, peanuts, shellfish, dairy, artificial sweeteners, colors from artificial sources, artificial flavors, agave, and artificial preservatives. They are $18.98 on Amazon.

2. New Age

This is a family-owned company that makes a variety of gummies that are vegan for the most part. I take vitamin D3, which I love because they taste like candies. The gummies are not too powdery or chalky or sticky. (My kids always ask to have these gummies.) They have kids vitamin gummies that are vegan too. They have turmeric, zinc, magnesium, and sleep gummies while other vitamins are pills. Do check the ingredients as some may not be vegan. The Vitamin D3, 2-pack, is for $24.99 on Amazon.

3. Solgar

Solgar is a company that has been around for 70 years producing different vitamins and supplements that provide different nutritional needs. Many of their products are Vegan, Kosher, Halal, gluten-free, dairy-free, and non-GMO. They have 212 products that are vegan which are in form of pills, liquid, and gummies. My husband uses B-complex which supports metabolism, cardiovascular health, and nervous system support. This one is for $38.50 on Amazon.

4. Naturelo

As the name suggests, all their vitamins and minerals are derived from plant-based products with whole food ingredients, no gluten, no preservatives, and non-GMO ingredients. They have a whole selection of men’s, women health, but most importantly for teenagers who equally need vitamins as much as kids. Some of the vegan products they have are vitamin D3, B12, iron, and DHA – omega 3 from algae. Their B-complex is $24.95 on Amazon.

5. Vedge Nutrition

This company uses 100% plant-based formulas that have been put together by experts with each ingredient having a purpose. The company makes plant-based protein supplements, pre-workouts, and nitro-pump. They also have the Essential which consists of B12, D3, K2, and Omega -3 all in one pill. I am not much of a protein person, but my husband loves taking the pre-workout and the protein powder as it gives him the boost needed, makes him feel full, and gives that boost of energy. The essential is for $39.95 on Amazon.

I am sure there are more companies out there carrying vegan products that are equally good; however, these are the ones I have tried and have liked. Vitamins are an essential part of our lives which we don’t realize till our body starts showing some signs of deficiency. Therefore, it is very vital that we take care of ourselves and our kids’ health.

So why not start now, before it is too late! Do share of any other companies that you love to have their vitamins and feel they are great for adults or children.
